HANOVER, N.H. — Read up on all the Big Green action over the next week!
Women's Tennis – Friday, Sept. 29 – Sunday, Oct. 1
Dartmouth is home for the first time this fall, welcoming St. John's, UMass and Boston College for the Fall Foliage Fest. The Big Green opened their fall season at the ITHF Women's Collegiate Invitational, held at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, two weeks ago with Lexi Dewire and Michela Moore making a run to the championship match of the grass-court doubles tournament. The Fall Foliage fest is the first of two home dates for Dartmouth this fall — the women return to Boss Tennis Center during the first weekend of November to host the Big Green Invitational.
Women's Cross Country – Friday, Sept. 29
Coming off a nearly three-week break from competition, the Big Green are set to take the course at Franklin Park for the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown. Dartmouth, the sixth-ranked team in the region, has won both races they have competed in this season and will look to do the same on Friday. Live results will be available through Millennium Running.
Men's Cross Country – Friday, Sept. 29
Running in their first event in nearly three weeks, the Big Green head to Boston to compete in the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown. Dartmouth won its first event of the season with a victory in the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational on Sept. 9, and will strive to make it back-to-back wins on Friday. Live results will be available through Millennium Running.
Volleyball – Friday, Sept. 29 + Saturday, Sept. 30
The Big Green travel to Cornell and Columbia looking for a pair of crucial Ivy League wins after dropping last weekend's conference opener to Harvard. Dartmouth has won five straight over both of this weekend's opponents. To view the full preview, please click here.
Men's Golf – Saturday, Sept. 30 – Sunday, Oct. 1
The Big Green head to Lake Placid this weekend for the Columbia Autumn Invitational, the team's third of four fall tournaments, focused on climbing the leaderboard. Senior Alex Gu has been the team's most consistent performer thus far with 74.0 stroke average, and sophomore Aaron Zhang has provided the team's top finish, tying for 21st at the Cornell Invitational during the opening weekend. Joining that duo on the course will be another sophomore in Fin Szafnauer, who has posted the lowest round for the team (73) at each of the first two tournaments, as well as freshman Tyler Brand and junior Justin Lee, while sophomore Cameron Keith will play as an individual.
Women's Golf - Saturday, Sept. 30 – Sunday, Oct. 1
Coming off an Ivy League single-round record 275 (-9) two weeks ago at the Princeton Invitational, lifting the Big Green into second place, the women's team aims to continue its strong play early in the season at the Yale Invitational. Alex Kirk, the Carolyn A. Pelzel '54a Head Coach of Women's Golf, is not one to mess with success with the same lineup, led by senior co-captain Katherine Sung who carded a school-record 67 (-4) in the final round at Princeton to earn a share of medalist honors. Senior Penelope Tir and sophomore Sophie Thai both posted two rounds at par or better, and sophomore Hope Hall improved each round culminating with an even par to conclude the tournament. Rounding out the team and gaining more experience will be freshman Caroline Chung, while sophomore Kim Shen will play as an individual.
Equestrian – Saturday, Sept. 30
The Big Green kick off their season by hosting Stonehill on Saturday in a scrimmage at Morton Farm. The meet is slated to begin at 11 a.m. Dartmouth recently came in fourth in the NCEA single-discipline preseason rankings.
Field Hockey – Saturday, Sept. 30 + Sunday, Oct. 1
After three straight road games, the Dartmouth field hockey team is set for a pair of home games this weekend, hosting Brown in an Ivy League showdown Saturday before welcoming New Hampshire on Sunday. Gametimes are set for 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., respectively, both on ESPN+. The Big Green enter the weekend 3-3 following a thrilling come-from-behind 5-4 win at Colgate in overtime. Saturday is Pride Day while Sunday features a Breast Cancer Awareness Game. For the complete preview, please click here.
Football – Saturday, Sept. 30
The battle for a record 21st Ivy League title begins this Saturday as Dartmouth takes on Penn in its first conference test. The Quakers outlasted the Big Green in double overtime in Hanover last year, 23-17, snapping Dartmouth's four-game win streak in the series. Last week, the Big Green picked up a non-conference victory in their home opener, sending Lehigh home with a 34-17 defeat. Dartmouth dominated the ball, holding onto the ball for more than 38 minutes of action. If not for a pair of fumbles, the score would have better reflected how thoroughly the Green dictated play on the field. To view the full preview, please click here.
Women's Soccer – Saturday, Sept. 30 + Wednesday, Oct. 4
The Big Green continued their historic start to the season with a 1-0 victory over Yale this past weekend in the Ivy League opener. Dartmouth welcomes Cornell to Burnham Field on Saturday for its first home Ivy match of the year before traveling to Harvard on Wednesday evening. The full preview for the Cornell match will be released on Friday while the preview for Wednesday's match against Harvard will release on Tuesday.
Men's Soccer – Saturday, Sept. 30 + Tuesday, Oct. 3
After claiming a 1-0 victory in rainy conditions on the road at Princeton last weekend, the Big Green men's soccer team returns to Burnham Field for two straight home contests. Dartmouth plays host to Penn, the defending league champion, on Saturday evening before a non-conference matchup against Bryant on Tuesday. Full preview to be released on Friday.
Sailing – Saturday, Sept. 30 – Sunday, Oct. 1
The Big Green will be represented at four regattas this weekend at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship, hosted by St. Mary's College of Maryland, along with the Danmark Trophy, hosted by the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. Dartmouth will also compete in the Moody Trophy at the University of Rhode Island and the Smith Trophy at MIT (Saturday only).
Last weekend was highlighted by Dartmouth capturing first at the Callagy Ross Trophy, along with third and fourth out of 18 teams at the Mrs. Hurst Bowl.
