Men’s Soccer Comeback Falls Short Against Tigers

HANOVER, N.H. – Men's Soccer welcomed the Princeton Tigers to Burnham Field this weekend for Senior Day and looking to get one step closer to clinching a spot in the Ivy League tournament.
Princeton put up two goals in the first half and while the Big Green were able to get one back in the second, they couldn't tie the game, falling to the Tigers 2-1.
With the loss, the Big Green fall to 5-7-3 overall and 2-3-1 in Ivy League play.
The Tigers wasted no time getting on the board, scoring in the third minute. They doubled their lead in the 22nd minute when Nico Nee collected his second of the game.
Despite starting the second half down by two goals, the Big Green continued to pressure, throwing ten shots at the Tigers' goalkeeper in the final 45 minutes.
In the 72nd minute, a Big Green free kick from the right side of the field found its way into the box, bobbling around and finding Kristian Feed outside the box. Uncovered, he ripped a shot to the left side of the goal, cutting Princeton's lead to one.
Bobby Clark Head Coach of Men's Soccer Bo Oshoniyi described this one as "a tough one," but said his team was better in the second half.
"I thought our second half was phenomenal. I thought we really fought back," Oshoniyi said. "Kristian Feed scored an unbelievable goal."
Oshoniyi also gave credit to Princeton and its game, adding their celebration will add some fuel to his team's fire.
"I do think that's going to give us some added motivation to train this week going against Harvard and we're just hoping we get another chance to see Princeton in the Ivy League tournament. That's going to be the motivation from our guys and that's what we are going to be looking forward to as our goal to get back to the Ivy League tournament," Oshoniyi said.
