
Cornish and Hesová Named THe Richards Group Athletes of the Week

HANOVER, N.H.—Ryan Cornish of Dartmouth men's basketball and Michaela Hesová of Dartmouth women's hockey have earned the title of The Richards Group Athletes of the Week following success weeks of competition.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes – one male, one female – as Athletes of the Week.
Ryan Cornish, Sr., Potomac, Md.
Ryan Cornish played 24 minutes for the Big Green in their victory over ACC opponent Boston College on Black Friday. He scored 18 points for the Big Green, while going 5-11 from the field. He was 7-8 from the charity stripe which proved to be vital in the final score. He added two rebounds, five assists and a steal. The steal came with less than 15 seconds in the game, and Cornish was fouled. He drained the one-and-one shots to secure the victory for Dartmouth. Cornish also contributed points on two successful and-ones throughout the game.
Michaela Hesová, Fy., Prague, Czech Republic
In two games this past weekend, first-year goaltender Michaela Hesová faced 83 shots, making 76 total saves against the Minnesota State Mankato Mavericks. In Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss, Hesová made 49 total saves, including 24 saves in the third period after successfully killing off a five-on-three penalty for the final minute and a half of regulation and into overtime. Hesová now has 394 saves in 12 games between the pipes for the Big Green.
