AUBURN, Ala. — The Dartmouth equestrian team ended the regular with a 5-3 win over the University of Tennessee Martin on Saturday, in a neutral-site matchup held at Auburn.
Â
In the first half, the Big Green took three of four flat matchups. Senior
Margot Luria and first-years
Samantha Takacs and
Cassidy Exner won their contests, 78-70, 84-83 and 83-78, respectively.
Â
For the second time in as many days, a Dartmouth rider was named Most Outstanding Performer on the flat, as Takacs took home the honors.
Â
Over fences, Takacs and Exner each picked up their second wins of the day (77-71 and 72-70), sealing a 5-3 team victory.
Â
"I'm so proud of the entire team's effort today," said Big Green head coach
Tenley Walsh. "Every rider contributed to the win, even those who were not in the lineup. Samantha and Cassidy had fantastic seasons and it was fitting for them to each win two points today." Â
Â
Dartmouth ends its regular season 4-3 and currently sits third in the NCEA single-discipline rankings. The top four teams will compete in Ocala, Florida for the national championship in April.
