STAUNTON, VA. - Following their win over No. 1 Lynchburg yesterday, No. 2 Dartmouth equestrian defeated Bridgewater College 6-4 on Saturday, Oct. 3 in their final day of their road trip in Virginia. With the victory, the Big Green moves to an overall record of 3-0 on the season.
In the first half, the team won three of the five matchups over fences. Ellie Sadrian '30 and Mia Thomasson '30 picked up their first career victories (86-80, 75-71) and Cassidy Exner grabbed the lead for the Big Green with her 83-74 performance.
"Ellie and Mia have been riding really well - better than the results indicate," said head coach Tenley Walsh. "We needed them today and they came through. That's a cool moment for them."
Out of the break, Camilla Jerng '29, Exner, and Grace Russo '29 won their flat contests (78-76, 84-81, 67-58) to clinch the team win.
"Those three opened up our season with three wins jumping, and today they brought it home on the flat," said Walsh. "Really happy with everyone's performance this weekend."
In addition to remaining unbeaten on the season, Dartmouth extended its streak of sweeping the day's Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) awards. Sadrian was named the MOP over fences, and Exner earned the MOP on the flat.
