HOUSTON — No. 70 Dartmouth suffered a 7-0 loss to Rice on Wednesday, unable to get back in the win column during the first of three matches in Texas.

Rice earned the doubles point with victories on Courts 1 and 2 and went on two sweep singles.
Alex Knox-Jones and
Hikaru Takeda were in a close 6-6 battle at No. 3 doubles, but the result on Court 2 clinched the point for the Owls before the pair had the chance to finish their match.

Miles Groom gave the Big Green their best chance at a point in singles, winning the first set before ultimately dropping a three-setter. Groom had won four straight in singles entering Wednesday's match.

Dartmouth is set to take on Prarie View A&M on Thursday, March 21.
