HANOVER, N.H. —
Jensin Hall of the Dartmouth softball team now has three straight Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honors to her credit after striking out 17 Brown hitters in one of the most dominant performances in conference history.
Â
Hall's one-hit shutout of the Bears came exactly a week after she no-hit Yale. Her 17 strikeouts are the most in Dartmouth history against a Division I opponent, and the most by any Ivy League pitcher against a Division I opponent since 2006. Only two other Division I pitchers this season have tallied more strikeouts in a game this season than Hall.
Â
Prior to Hall's historic effort against Brown, she picked up the win in the circle against nationally ranked Boston University to hand the Big Green their first ranked victory since 2015. The Terriers entered the game among the top 15 nationally in batting average, but Hall limited them to three hits and one run over three and a third innings, while striking out five.
Â
With her fifth strikeout in the Brown game, Hall reached 100 on the season (and her career) in just 64.1 innings pitched, becoming the fastest pitcher in program history to hit triple digits in a single season. The Frisco, Texas native currently ranks second in the nation, and best among all freshmen, in strikeouts per seven innings (11.2).
Â
Hall finished the week with a WHIP (walks and hits per innings pitched) of 0.79 and a 0.68 earned run average.
Â
Dartmouth heads to Harvard on Tuesday, April 9, and a win would give the Big Green a series victory over the defending Ivy League Tournament champion.
