HALL'S HISTORIC PERFORMANCE
In
Jensin Hall's recent one-hit shutout against Brown in the opening game of the series, she recorded a career-high 17 strikeouts. That's the most by any Dartmouth pitcher against a Division I opponent (tying Brooke Plonka's 17 against Division III Tufts in 2021 for the overall program record). It's also the highest strikeout total for any Ivy League pitcher against a Division I opponent since 2006, and tied for the third highest for any Division I pitcher this season.
Â
100 STRIKEOUTS
With her fifth strikeout on Saturday, Hall recorded her 100th of the season, having pitched only 64.1 innings. That's the fastest any Big Green pitcher has reached 100 strikeouts in a season, and she's now the third first-year pitcher in program history to hit triple digits during her rookie campaign. As of Monday, she ranks second in the nation, and best among all freshman, in strikeouts per seven innings (11.2).
Â
McCARROLL GOES THE DISTANCE
Junior
Rachel McCarroll's complete-game, five-hit shutout highlighted Sunday's doubleheader. She followed it up by pitching another complete game in the series finale and the Big Green lost 12-9, but only four of those runs were earned for McCarroll.
Â
FIRST RANKED WIN SINCE 2015
Thanks in part to a sixth-inning solo shot by first-year
Cwen Wilson, the Big Green upended No. 21/23 Boston University 5-4 on Tuesday for their first victory over a ranked opponent since 2015 (Auburn in the season opener).
Â
CAHALAN'S HITTING STREAK
Senior
Mary Beth Cahalan has put together a nice hitting streak in the leadoff spot - she has at least one hit in eight straight games.
Â
MORE WEEKLY HONORS
On Monday,
Jensin Hall was named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week for the third straight week. Â
Â
ANOTHER ROAD TEST COMING UP
The Big Green visit Princeton, the 2023 Ivy League regular season champion, next weekend.
