HANOVER, N.H. — Following a strong rookie season, first-year
Samantha Takacs of the Dartmouth equestrian team has been named a second team Ariat All-American, as announced by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) on Tuesday.

Takacs finished the regular season tied for the most points on the Big Green (eight) and also tied for the most Most Outstanding Performance honors (three).

Takacs earned MOP over fences in a win over Sweet Briar, Dartmouth's opponent in next week's NCEA Semifinals. Takacs was also MOP on the flat against Sacred Heart and against UT Martin.

"Samantha has had such a positive impact on this team both, in and out of the ring," said Dartmouth head coach
Tenley Walsh. "I am so proud of her and happy for her to receive this recognition."

The Big Green are set for their first-ever NCEA Nationals next week, which is set for Apr. 18-20 in Ocala, Florida. Third-seeded Dartmouth will face second-seeded Sweet Briar in the semifinals.
