The Dorothy H. Leavitt Award — presented annually to the player who has made the greatest contribution to the field hockey program, both on and off the field — went to fifth-year
Meg Barnes and senior
Lila Browne. Barnes served as a tremendous leader in her career, as detailed in
this feature story. Her impact came not only in the intangibles, but also on the field as she posted career highs in assists (6) and points (8) this past season. Barnes finished her career with 18 points behind four goals and 10 assists. She was named honorable mention All-Ivy as a sophomore in 2021. Meanwhile, Browne's impact was equally strong, capping off her career with honorable mention All-Ivy in the fall. She finished second on the team in goals (5), assists (4) and points (14), which included two-goal efforts vs. Stonehill and New Hampshire. Browne finished her career with 32 goals behind 11 goals and 10 assists.

First-year Lucia Campaño was named the Big Green's Offensive Player of the Year. Campaño enjoyed a sensational rookie season, earning second team All-Ivy and second team All-Region after a team-leading 19 points behind eight goals and three assists. Her eight goals were most by a Big Green rookie since Ali Savage had 12 in 2011 while her five goals in league play were tied for third in the Ivy League. She scored a goal in five of the last six games of the season, including two in a 3-1 win vs. Columbia. Earlier in the season, Campaño became the first Dartmouth player to score in four straight games since Katie Spanos in 2018.

Sophomore
Ava Carlson was named Defensive Player of the Year after anchoring the defense in her first year as starting goalkeeper. Carlson finished the year with a 2.60 goals against average and 66.4 save percentage. She made eight saves in a 2-0 shutout of Brown, Dartmouth's first Ivy League win since 2018. Carlson made a career-high 10 saves the following day against New Hampshire and also allowed just one goal in the win over Columbia. She allowed two goals or fewer seven times, including four of the last five games of the season.

First-year
Raina Johns was named the Most Improved Player. Johns got into 10 games, including eight of the final nine games. Johns became a consistent contributor on a back line that had a number of standout performances, including shutting out Brown and allowing just one goal to Columbia.
Â
First-year
McLaine Leik was named Teammate of the Year. Someone who will do whatever is needed for the Dartmouth field hockey program, Leik's impact to those around her does not go unnoticed. Â

As a team, the Big Green made major strides in 2023, finishing 6-9, their most wins since 2018 and fewest losses since 2012. Dartmouth picked up big Ivy League wins over Brown and Columbia. Against the Bears, the Big Green picked up their first Ivy League shutout since 2012 and first shutout of the Bears since 2005. In the 3-1 win over Columbia, Dartmouth beat Columbia by multiple goals for the first time since 2015 and ended the season with two multi-goal Ivy League wins for the first time since 2014.
