HANOVER, N.H. —
Jensin Hall was named the Ivy League's Pitcher of the Year, in addition to awards for three others on Wednesday morning as part of the conference's announcement of postseason accolades.
Mary Beth Cahalan was unanimously named to the All-Ivy First Team,
Alaana Panu landed on the league's second team and
Kelly Beaupre received an honorable mention.
Hall, the Big Green's first Ivy League Pitcher of the Year since 2015 (Kristin Rumley '15), put up historic numbers during a dominant freshman campaign and currently leads Division I in strikeouts per seven innings with 11.1. She stands atop the Ivy League in total strikeouts with 157 – 58 more than her closest competitor – and ranks second in the Ancient Eight with a 2.13 earned run average, along with a league-best 0.84 ERA across all Ivy League games. During conference play, Hall has recorded four complete-game shutouts, including a no-hitter against Yale on March 30. She fanned a career-high 17 against Brown in another shutout, marking the most strikeouts by any Ivy League pitcher against a Division I opponent since 2006, and the most by any Dartmouth pitcher in program history against Division I competition. In April, the powerful right-hander from Frisco, Texas was named to the TUCCI/NFCA Division I National Freshman of the Year Top 25, becoming the first player in program history to be named on that annual list. Hall was the Ivy League's Pitcher of the Week four times.
Hall is the first freshman to be named Ivy League Pitcher of the Year since 2003 (Columbia's Jackie Adelfio).
With Cahalan's first team accolade, the Big Green have had at least one first teamer in each of the last nine seasons in which Ivy League postseason awards were handed out. After earning an honorable mention a season ago, Cahalan put up a team-best .380 batting average, which ranks among the top five in the Ivy League and currently stands as the best by any Big Green hitter since 2019 (discounting the abbreviated 2020 and 2021 seasons). The Midland, Georgia native recently hit two home runs during the shortened Columbia series, including the game-tying solo shot during Game 1 that helped the Big Green clinch their Ivy League Tournament berth. Also one of the conference's premier defensive catchers, Cahalan has caught 13 runners stealing – good for second in the Ivy League.
In addition to Cahalan's first team honor, she was also named to the Academic All-Ivy Team, which recognizes student-athletes with high academic performance, along with significant contributions to their respective teams.
Panu's second team honor comes after she hit .281 with 14 RBIs. She finished the season with some of her best hitting, having recorded five multi-hit games over Dartmouth's last nine regular season contests, including three hits and two RBIs in the Big Green's finale against Columbia that featured a program-best 22 runs scored. This marks Panu's third postseason accolade as she was a first teamer as a freshman and an honorable mention following her sophomore season.
Beaupre led the Big Green with 23 RBIs and five home runs during her senior campaign. The Rancho Palos Verdes, California product recently enjoyed a streak of four homers in five games, including a grand slam during Dartmouth's series sweep of Cornell. She later went yard in back-to-back games against Penn. Her three-run shot against Columbia in the regular season finale brought the Big Green to their historic final tally of 22. Beaupre was a Second Team All-Ivy honoree a season ago as a junior.
Dartmouth begins its Ivy League Tournament run on Wednesday, facing top-seeded host Princeton at 5 p.m.
