HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth Sailing program showed off their brand-new boat house this weekend, welcoming numerous teams to Lake Mascoma, hosting the 26
th annual Mrs. Hurst Trophy. The Big Green also travelled to Brown, competing at the Hoyt Trophy.
Dartmouth had two teams compete on Lake Mascoma, earning fourth and sixth place finishes. The first Big Green pair put up 40 points in the A Division, tied for the second-best score, and 72 points in the B Division for 112 total points and fourth place overall. Their second best A Division score was only one point behind the A Division winner, Yale.
The Big Green's first team found themselves at the top of the pack early, thanks to a first-place finishing positing in the second A Division race. They would add seven top five finishes over the remaining two days of racing, including first place finishes in the seventh and ninth A Division race to solidify fourth place.
The second pair scored 62 points in the A Division, good for fourth place, and 69 points in the B Division for fifth overall, posting 131 points total for sixth place.
They had back-to-back ninth place finishes to start racing, but then began a steady climb to the top of the pack thanks to four top five finishing positions over the next four races. They capped off the day with a first-place finish, earning sixth overall and beating the seventh place Brown by 31 total points.

Sophie Menyhart, and
Caroline Leicht competed at the Sherman Hoyt Trophy, placing third overall. The Big Green put up 91 points in the A Division and 82 points in the B Division, just edging Rhode Island for third place with 173 total points.
Half of the races sailed by the Big Green were top five finishes and a string of five top five finishes just about halfway through, propelled them into third place. Three of Dartmouth's final five races were top five finishes, giving them just enough to finish the regatta in third place.
The Big Green will return to the water next weekend, sailing at the Danmark, Moody, and Smith Trophies while also competing in the first round of the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship. You will be able to follow the live scoring
