HANOVER, N.H. – Meredith Jensen of women's hockey and Kareem Thomas of men's basketball have been named the Richards Group Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes – one male athlete or team, one female athlete or team– as Athletes of the Week.
Meredith Jensen, Sr., Lakeville, Minn., Women's Hockey
Meredith Jensen had a productive weekend on the ice for the Big Green, scoring three goals and adding an assist for four total points in Dartmouth's two wins over Saint Michael's and Saint Anselm. In Friday's 10-0 victory over the Purple Knights, the Big Green's most goals scored in a game since 2012, Jensen found the back of the net for the first time this season. She continued to produce on Saturday, adding two goals and one assist, scoring the game winner shorthanded to contribute to three of the Big Green's four goals. Jensen scored the first shorthanded goal since 2023, helped Dartmouth to a weekend sweep at Thompson Arena for the first time since 2021, and doubled her career goal total (3) in two games.
Kareem Thomas, So., Wilmington, Del., Men's Basketball
Kareem Thomas made five three-pointers off five attempts, which is the most made threes without a miss for a Dartmouth player since Brendan Barry against VTSU Lyndon on Nov. 16, 2021. This marks the most made three-pointers without a miss against a D1 opponent for a Dartmouth player in at least ten seasons. Thomas led the team in points with 22 and currently ranks second in the league in points with 174.
