PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -The No. 12 Dartmouth women's squash team was defeated by No. 9 Drexel on Friday morning, falling 8-1.Â
Maya Shroff picked up the Big Green's sole victory at the sixth position. She started strong, winning her first two games 12-10 and 11-8 before dropping one to Penn's Awande Malinga. Shroff recovered with an 11-6 victory.Â
Nathalie Taylor had the longest match of the morning, battling for 52 minutes at the ninth position. She lost her first game but was able to even up the score twice before Drexel's Eveli Mälik clinched the game with an 11-8 win.Â
Maria Clara Ramirez began her match at the first position by winning the first two games. Penn's Moa Bonnemark stole the momentum and reverse swept Ramirez, winning 3-2.Â
At the second position, Ellie Clifford attempted a comeback by evening the score with an 11-7 win but was unable to complete it, falling 3-1.Â
The Big Green will be back in action at 11 a.m. on Saturday when they face No. 11 Tufts at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia, Pa.Â
