Big Green Knock Off Top Seed Lynchburg in NCEA Semis
OCALA, Fla.-- The No. 4 ranked Dartmouth equestrian team defeated No. 1 Lynchburg 6-4 to advance to the 2025 NCEA Single Discipline National Championship for the first time in program history. The Big Green will square off against the College of Charleston, who defeated Sweet Briar 6-4 on Friday.
In the first half, Elise Stephens '28, Cassidy Exner '27, Samantha Takacs '27 and Chloe Terestchenko '25 won their fence points, 86.3-83.7, 78-60.7, 76.7-63.7, and 77.3-72 respectively.
With a three-point cushion, the team secured two of the five flat matchups, as Exner and Stephens picked up their second victories of the day.
Head Coach Tenley Walsh knows how much work the team has done to get to this point. "We have been working hard all year to be here today. We have put in the time, we are prepared, and we are looking forward to competing tomorrow."
Dartmouth and Charleston will face off the fourth time this season on Saturday. The Big Green and Cougars kicked off the day at 9 am on Saturday in Ocala. The National Championship will be streamed on ESPN3 and live scoring can be found by clicking here.
