NEW YORK, N.Y.—The Dartmouth women's tennis team fell 4-0 to Columbia in its season finale on Sunday.
Doubles
Elizabeth Fahrmeier and Elise Wong teamed up in second doubles on Sunday. The duo fell 6-3, they finish the spring with an 8-7 record in doubles.
Caroline Lemcke and Brooke Hess fell in third singles as Columbia took the doubles point. The Dartmouth duo fell 6-3, it was the first time this spring that Lemcke finished a doubles match. Hess went 7-9 in doubles this spring.
Michela Moore and Peyton Capuano were in a battle in first doubles, the duo trailed 5-4 when the match was ended. The sophomore duo went 15-4 in the spring.
Singles
Columbia picked up its second point in fourth singles. Fahrmeier dropped the first set 6-1 and could not respond in the second set as she fell 6-2. She finishes her Dartmouth with 20 singles wins.
Wong closed out her first-year season in sixth singles on Sunday. The first-year fell 6-3, 6-1; in her first season she won seven singles matches.
The Lions clinched the match following a straight set win in fifth singles. Lemcke fell 6-2 in the first set and could not force a third set as she lost 6-3 in the second set. Lemcke won 11 matches this season which includes six dual match wins.
Capuano was up a set in first singles after winning the first set 7-6. The second set was tied at two when the match came to an end. Capuano finishes the season with a 9-9 record in dual matches, she had 11 wins on the season.
Moore fell in the first set of her second singles match but was leading the second set 5-2 when the match was ended. The sophomore finishes the season with a team high 12 dual match wins and 20 overall wins.
First-year Lauren Han was in a battle in third singles, she fell 7-6 in the first set and was trailing 2-1 in the second set. Han won 10 dual matches this season and 14 overall matches.
As a team Dartmouth won nine matches while winning six matches at home. The nine wins are the most since the 2017-18 season when the Big Green won 11 matches.
