Women's Tennis Falls To Penn To Open Weekend

HANOVER, N.H.—The Dartmouth women's tennis team fell 4-1 to Penn on Saturday at Boss Tennis Center.

Doubles

Peyton Capuano and Michela Moore notched their 13^th win of the spring in first doubles for the Big Green. They won the lone doubles match of the day for Dartmouth with a 6-2 win in first doubles.

Elizabeth Fahrmeier and Elise Wong played a tough second doubles match but fell 6-3.

Brooke Hess and Lauren Han teamed up for just the second time this season as they played in third doubles. The duo fell 6-4 as Penn took the doubles point.

Singles

Han notched the lone point of the day for the Big Green in third singles. She fell in first set 6-3 but responded to tie the match at one with a 6-1 win in the second set. In the tiebreaker, the first-year improved to 10-4 on the season with a 6-4 win.

Fahrmeier was slotted in fourth singles, she fell 6-4 in the opening set and could not make a comeback as she fell 6-0 in the second set.

Valentina Cruz played in sixth singles and dropped the first set 6-3. She looked to respond in the second set, but she couldn't force a third set as she fell 6-1.

Caroline Lemcke battled in fifth singles as Penn looked to take the match. Lemcke won the opening set 6-4 to take an early lead. Lemcke fell 6-0 in the second set to go to a third set. Lemcke fell in the third 6-2 as Penn took the match.

Capuano and Moore were locked in tight matches in first and second singles. Capuano was tied at two in the third set. She fell 7-6 in the first set but dominated the second set winning 6-0.

In second singles, Moore dropped the first set 7-5, she was leading the second set 6-5 when the match was ended.

The Big Green look to bounce back on Sunday at 1 PM as Princeton travels to Boss Tennis Center.
