
Malone and Men's Heavyweight Rowing Named Richards Group Athletes of the Week

HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth softball player Justice Malone and the Dartmouth men's heavyweight rowing varsity eight boat are this week's The Richards Group Athletes of the Week.

Justice Malone, Sophomore, Infielder, Mount Vernon, Ill. Softball
Malone played in and started all four games for the Big Green this past week. In the team's Ivy League weekend series with Princeton, she recorded a .500 batting average going 4-8. She had four runs, eight total bases and an RBI. She hit a walk off homer in the bottom of the 10th inning versus the defending Ivy League champion Tigers, handing the league's top team their first conference loss of the season. Malone recorded a slugging percentage of 1.000 and had an on base percentage of .636. In the field, she had four putouts with a field percentage of 1.000. In the team's non-conference win over Siena, Malone went 1-3 with a homerun and a sacrifice fly that lead to two RBIs. She also notched an assist in the field.
Varsity Eight, Men's Heavyweight Rowing
The Dartmouth men's heavyweight rowing varsity eight kicked off its spring season with a vengeance, defeating Yale to bring the Olympic Axe back to Hanover for the first time in the trophy's 21-year history. Sixth-ranked Dartmouth jumped out to an early lead and wouldn't look back in finishing with a time of 6:10.3, compared to fifth-ranked Yale's 6:12.4.
