HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's tennis played two matches over the weekend, hosting Boston College and Fordham at Boss Tennis Center. The Big Green won both matches, posting a 2-0 record on the weekend and moving their overall record to 3-0.
Dartmouth first faced Boston College on Friday night, earning the 4-3 victory thanks to four singles wins.
Peyton Capuano and
Michela Moore were the only Big Green duo to win their doubles match, winning 7-5 at first doubles.
Sam Grosjean and
Alexandra Orlins went into a tiebreak at second doubles, but ultimately fell, 7-6, 7-5 in the tiebreak.
Josephine Lombardi and
Lauren Han were paired at third doubles, dropping their match, 6-4.
The Big Green won three of the six singles matches, earning their first win at sixth singles. Grosjean's match was the second singles match to conclude, as she posted the 7-5, 6-1 victory.
Han's match at fourth singles was the first to conclude, but Han fell 6-1, 6-1.
Moore picked up her second win of the day at second singles, cruising to a 6-1, 6-3 victory over her opponent.
The third singles match between Orlins and Eordekian of Boston College was called in the second set knotted at two. Orlins won the tiebreak 7-4 in the first set to win 7-6, before Eordekian was forced to withdraw in the second set.
Lombardi played at fifth singles and after dropping the first set 6-4, battled back to win the second by the same score, forcing a third set. She ultimately fell in the final set, 6-3.
The match came down to first singles between Capuano and Benton of Boston College. The pair were forced into a tiebreak in the first set, but Capuano cruised to the 7-1 victory to win the first set, 7-6. Benton battled back to defeat Capuano 6-4 and force a third set. Capuano found a way to come out on top, winning the third set 7-5 and clinching the 4-3 match victory over the Eagles.

Bob Dallis said, "It was an outstanding team victory. The team showed a lot of resilience and character."
Following Friday's tight win over the Eagles, the Big Green were right back in action on Saturday, facing Fordham.
Capuano and Moore continued to impress, winning their first doubles match, 6-2. Grosjean and Orlins also earned the win at second doubles, also a 6-2 score.
Elise Wong and
Brooke Hess were paired for the third doubles match, but it was called in the first set with Fordham holding a 5-4 lead.
Capuano's first singles match was the first to conclude. She cruised to a 6-1 first set victory before Fordham's Ueno Dalmonico had to retire in the second set with Capuano holding a 2-1 lead.
Orlins won her second match of the day at third singles, posting a 6-0, 6-2 victory.
At sixth singles, Lemcke fell to Fordham 6-2, 6-2 in her first appearance of the weekend.
Both the fourth singles and fifth singles played by Han and Lombardi went unfinished, meaning the match came down to Moore at second singles.
Moore cruised to a 6-0 victory in the second set before playing in a tiebreak in the second set. She posted a 7-1 victory in the tiebreak to clinch the match and defeat Fordham, 6-0, 7-6 (7-1).
Dallis continued to praise his team after the win, noting it was an "overall strong performance against a very competitive, well coached Fordham team."
The Big Green will be back in action this Saturday, January 31, welcoming Boston University to Hanover. The match against the Terriers is set to begin at 1 p.m. You can stream the match live
