NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Dartmouth volleyball pushed Yale until the end but fell 3-0 to the Bulldogs on Saturday, Oct. 3.
Zori Brown led the Big Green in kills with 12 and had seven digs.
Maddie LaFata led Dartmouth in digs, with 11, had eight kills and a career-best of two assists.
Riley Imamura and
Elle McCreery also had eight kills against the Bulldogs.
Julia York had a team-best of 14 assists and
Sophia Gagnepain totaled 13 assists.
Clementine Tebbe had a team-best of two solo blocks and Imamura had a team-best of two block assists against Yale. As a team, the Big Green led in blocks over the Bulldogs, 5-3.
In the first set, from the first serve, it was a back-and-forth between the two teams. Yale took an early lead; however, Dartmouth worked hard throughout the set, due to kills from
Zori Brown and
Maddie LaFata. The Big Green took its first lead of the match, 24-23 and looked to close out the first set. The Bulldogs didn't go away as they battled back and won the set, 28-26.
In the second set, Yale went up early, 2-0 but Dartmouth stayed close within reach.

Riley Imamura all had kills to keep the Big Green in the set. However, the offensive attack from the Bulldogs continued to get points on the board. Kills from Brown and McCreery put Dartmouth within two points of Yale; however, the Bulldogs held on to take the second set, 25-21.
In the third set, Dartmouth looked to make a comeback as they had kills from LaFata and McCreery in the beginning. The Bulldogs continued to use their momentum to extend their lead, while the Big Green worked to stay in the match. Yale controlled the lead for the remainder of the set and closed out the third, 25-17 and with an overall 3-0 victory.
