PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Dartmouth women's basketball team knocked down six first-quarter 3-pointers, but couldn't carry the momentum through four quarters, as the Big Green fell at Brown 58-51 on Friday evening.
Zeynep Ozel scored 13 points while
Nina Minicozzi had 11 to lead the offense.
A 16-8 Bears' edge in the second quarter proved to be the difference, as the Big Green were outscored by just two in the second half.
With the loss, Dartmouth falls to 10-12 and 1-8 in the Ivy League. Brown improves to 14-7 and 6-3.
The Big Green finished 9-of-24 from 3-point range for the game. Minicozzi and Ozel finished a combined 6-of-10 from 3-point range, with Minicozzi 3-of-4 and Ozel 3-of-6.
Cate MacDonald had seven points and a career-high 11 rebounds in the defeat.

FIRST QUARTER:
- Early on, neither team led by more than one possession until Grace Arnolie hit a turnaround jump shot gave the Bears a 12-8 lead with 5:11 on the clock.
- The Big Green caught fire with four 3-pointers in the span of 3:10 — with one from Alexandra Eldredge, two from Minicozzi and one from Ozel — giving Dartmouth a 20-17 lead.
- That proved to be the score after one quarter.
SECOND QUARTER:
- The early stages of the second quarter saw four lead changes.
- Two Minicozzi free throws evened the score at 28 with 3:24 until halftime
- Brown scored the final five points of the half for a 33-28 halftime lead.
THIRD QUARTER:
- The third quarter featured multiple runs as Brown began with nine of the first 10 points to take a 42-29 lead with 4:22 on the clock.
- The Big Green answered with seven straight points, behind an Ozel 3-pointer and layups from Debra Hill and Cate MacDonald, to pull within 42-36 with 1:49 left in the stanza.
- A Sierra Carson second-chance layup pulled Dartmouth within 45-38 after 30 minutes of play.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Brown began the quarter on a 12-3 run to extend its lead to a game-high 16 at 57-41.
- Dartmouth inched closer to within seven in the final minute, but it was too little, too late.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- The Big Green shot 30.9% from the floor (17-of-55), including 39.1% from 3-point range (9-of-23).
- Brown finished at 35.4% (23-of-66) and 37.5% from behind the arc (9-of-24).
- The Bears held a 50-35 edge in rebounds.
- Dartmouth finished with just 12 turnovers, compared to 14 for the Bears.
- Ozel scored double-figure points for the seventh time in the last 11 games.
- Carson added five points and three rebounds off the bench.
