TAMPA, Fla. – The Dartmouth men's and women's track and field teams had split-squad success on Friday, with some athletes competing in the South Florida Invite, while others traveled to Providence for the Friar Invitational.
"It was a competitive weekend of track and field for the Big Green as we competed at both Providence and South Florida. I was impressed with each event area and the improvements we're making across the board. We look forward to our upcoming competition at UCONN. Go Big Green!" Mike Nelson, the Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country, said.
Down at USF, Brad Chosewood clinched the discus for the Big Green with a 47.93m mark. J'Voughnn Blake placed second in the 800m with a time of 1:48.54, while Jada Jones placed second in the 400m with a 53.41 finish and third in the 200m with a 23.72 mark. Andie Murray finished fourth in the 800m with a final time of 2:07.80.
Mariella Schweitzer placed fourth in the long jump with a 6.10m mark, while recording a 13.64 finish in the 100m hurdles, which is good for second all-time in program history. Rebeka Zibritova put herself at third all-time in the 100m hurdles with a 14.12 finish and sixth all-time in the 400m hurdles with a 1:01.25 finish.
In Providence, Noe Kemper and Connor Foley ran 4:05.02 and 4:06.55 in the mile, while Ashton Bange finished second in the 3000m, 8:23.23. On the women's side, Claire McDonald recorded a PR of 9:53.19 in the 3k.
The Big Green will see more split-squad action on Friday when competing in the UConn NE Challenge and Sean Collier Invite.
