HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's cross country competed at the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational on Saturday, September 19, 2026, hosted by Dartmouth, at the Dartmouth Cross Country Course.
"We had a lot of fun today out at the cross-country course for the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational. We couldn't have asked for a better weather day," said
Mike Nelson, the Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country. "The meet was more than double in size than last year, and both races were very competitive. This meet has turned into one of the more premier XC meets in the northeast."
The Big Green finished in seventh place, led by
Virginia Kraus, who was the first runner to cross the finish line for Dartmouth in second place overall, in a time of 20:55.7.
Annamaria Bacchetta was the second runner to cross the finish line for Dartmouth, in 31st place, in a time of 22:21.9.
Lia Banovac was the third Big Green runner to finish in a time of 22:23.4, in 32nd place.
The fourth runner to cross the finish line for Dartmouth, was
Whitney Bruch who finished in a time of 22:38.9, in 42nd place. Rounding out the Big Green, was
Virginia Averyt who was the fifth runner to finish for Dartmouth, in a time of 22:40.3, in 45th place.

Virginia Kraus had fantastic races to lead us today. We look forward to our next meet, the Paul Short Invitational. Go Big Green!"
