Women’s Soccer Defeats Penn, 4-0 in Ivy League Opener; Extends Win and Shutout Streak to Five

HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth women's soccer defeated the University of Pennsylvania, 4-0 on Saturday, September 26, in the first game of Ivy League play of the 2026 season at Burnham Field. With the victory, the Big Green extended their win streak to five straight wins and five straight shutouts.
Maeve Theobald had a season-best two goals, Madison Rose had an impressive day of three assists and a goal and Anna Leschly scored her third goal in two games for the Big Green. Emmanuella Frimpomaa, Lykke Ihrfelt and Addison Ball all tallied assists, while Ola Goebel recorded her fifth clean sheet, with four saves against the Quakers.
In the first half, just two minutes in, Emmanuella Frimpomaa found Madison Rose going toward goal and slipped her a pass, which Rose kicked into the back of the net, right past the diving keeper. With an early 1-0 lead, Dartmouth continued to be a force on the offensive side of the ball. In the 20th minute, Maeve Theobald scored her first goal of the season, as Madison Rose and Lykke Ihrfelt had assists. The Big Green headed into halftime up 2-0 over the Quakers.
In the second half, Penn looked to make a comeback as they put a shot on goal early but Ola Goebel made a great save, to keep Dartmouth in the lead. Minutes later, with passes from Madison Rose and Addison Ball, Maeve Theobald went off on a breakaway and scored her second goal of the day. With a 3-0 lead for the Big Green, the Quakers continued to create chances toward the Dartmouth defense; however, Goebel made two back-to-back saves to keep Dartmouth in control.
In the 67th minute, Anna Leschly scored her third goal of the season, with the third assist of the day from Madison Rose, to put Dartmouth up 4-0. As time ticked down, the Big Green held on and clinched its fifth straight victory and the first victory in Ivy League play.
