Sailing Takes Second at Sherman Hoyt Trophy

HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth sailing team took to the water twice this weekend, hosting the 28th Mrs. Hurst Bowl on Lake Mascoma and sending a team to Providence, R.I., for the Sherman Hoyt Trophy at Brown.

RACE RESULTS

Sailing across two divisions at the Mrs. Hurst Bowl, the Big Green's top boat, Big Green 1, finished sixth overall out of 18 teams with Dartmouth's second boat, Big Green 2, finished 11^th.

The Big Green performed well overall at the Hoyt Trophy finishing no worse than eighth in any race which was good for beating at least half the field each time. The A Division was highlighted by a race win in the sixth race of the day while also finishing top five in eight of the 10 races.

At the Sherman Hoyt Trophy, the Big Green finished second overall out of 16 teams, posting 43 points in the A Division and 47 points in the B Division for 90 points total. Connecticut College also finished with 90 points and claimed first place on a head-to-head tiebreaker.

B Division races were more of the same for Dartmouth finishing top five in eight of the 10 races.
