Q and A with Katie:
Why Dartmouth?
I loved all of the unique opportunites that Dartmouth had to offer me. I found the coach and the team so welcoming and supportive, and I knew I wanted to align myself with these individuals. At other schools I looked at, the teams seemed
very one-dimensional. But the Dartmouth team is full of character and different personalities, while at the same time the closest knit family I could think of. I really liked that sense of togetherness. Also, I came to Dartmouth because I knew that outside of athletics and academics it would be easy to get involved in other outlets for my interests, such as writing, and I did not find this aspect of college life at any other campus. Simply, I knew that I would make the most out of my academics, athletics, and outside interests because of the outstanding resources and people that are situated right here in Hanover.
How long have you been running cross country and what got you interested in cross country?
I have run cross country since the 7th grade. Both of my parents enjoy running, and they suggested it to me as well, so I decided to go out for the team.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I have written an album's worth of songs on my guitar.
What are your future plans, if any?
I would like to make my career in writing, ideally for television or movies, but also in the field of journalism.
