Tyler Anderson joined the coaching staff during the summer of 2014 and has stepped in right away to help with duties large and small on the field and in the office. He will assist head coach Bob Whalen with the pitching staff and run the bullpen on game days. Off the field, he will help manage the recruiting database as well as the youth and high school camps.
Anderson, a native of Australia, has a wealth of playing experience to his credit. After finishing up his collegiate career at William Woods in Fulton, Missouri, he pitched for the Perth Heat in the inaugural two seasons (2010-11 and 2011-12) of the Australia Baseball League. He made 10 relief appearances in his first season, going 1-0 with a 4.24 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 17 innings, and helped Perth to the league championship in both years. Anderson also represented Australia in the 2011 Asia Series against the champions of the Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese Leagues.
At William Woods, the right-hander posted a 10-2 record in two seasons, including a 6-2 mark while leading the team with a 4.04 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 62.1 innings as a senior all-conference honorable mention. The Owls were ranked among the top 25 at the NAIA level both years as well.
Prior to single seasons at Glendale Community College and Southeastern Community College, Anderson played for the U18 Western Australia State baseball team in 2005 and ’06, winning the national championship in the latter year.
Anderson graduated from William Woods in 2011 with a degree in sport management and currently resides in Hanover.
