HANOVER, N.H. – On Thursday, Interim Head Coach
Blake McFadden announced
Brad Hill and
Jaren Hunter will join the staff as the team's newest assistant coaches. Most recently, Hill served as the head coach at his alma mater, Emporia State while Hunter has worked for the Ridgefield Raptors after a successful pitching career at Oregon State.
Â
"I'm thrilled to welcome both Brad and Jaren to our Dartmouth Baseball staff," McFadden said. "Brad's record of over 900 career wins speaks for itself—he is one of the most accomplished coaches in the game, and his knowledge and leadership will be an incredible asset to our program. Jaren, with his success as a pitcher at Oregon State and his understanding of what it takes to excel at the highest level of college baseball, brings a fresh perspective and a relentless drive to develop our players. Together, they add tremendous value to our staff, and I could not be more excited about the impact they will have on our student-athletes and the future of Dartmouth Baseball."
Â
Hill has been a head coach for 26 total seasons, posting a career 930-563-3 record with three different programs. He coached nine years at Central Missouri and 15 at Kansas State before spending the last two years at Emporia State.
Â
With the Hornets the past two seasons, Hill posted a 44-54 overall record, engineering a 20-game turnaround in his first season. He had four student-athletes earn all-conference recognition, maintained a team 3.15 GPA, and improved retention by 25%.
Â
From 2003 through 2018, Hill posted a record setting 463 wins as the head coach at Kansas State. He guided the Wildcats to four NCAA Regional appearances and the program's only Big 12 Championship in 2013.
Â
He was a two time Big 12 Coach of the Year (2009, 2013), a two-time ABCA Midwest Coach of the Year (2009, 2013) and had 46 players drafted to the MLB in his 15 years at the helm at K State.
Â
Hill also coached McFadden and current assistant coach
Jacob Biller at Kansas State. McFadden was a member of the 2013 Wildcats team that won the Big 12 conference title and advanced to the NCAA Super Regional. He was named to the Big 12 All-Rookie team after posting a 6-3 record over 13 starts and 58 innings.
Â
Biller played under Hill for two seasons at K State. He earned the Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award, the highest academic honor in the Big 12 conference as well as being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team and the All-Big 12 first-team in 2018.
Â
In addition to coaching, Hill has worked in numerous player development roles, most recently with Marucci Clubhouse. He structured individual development plans for more than 150 athletes and raised college recruitment by 40%, helping guide student-athletes and their families through the collegiate recruiting process.
Â
Hunter, who graduated from Oregon State in 2024 and will work with the team in a volunteer role, has spent the summer working as the pitching coach for the Ridgefield Raptors of the West Coast League. He oversaw 20 Division I pitchers, leading the league with nine strikeouts per game thanks to individualized programming.
Â
Prior to the Raptors, Hunter spent a year working for Trackman Baseball, overseeing the Northwest region to help college coaches and other facilities implement ball tracking analytics and biometric systems.
Â
As a four-year pitcher with the Beavers, Hunter tallied 147 innings across 27 starts and 16 relief appearances. He finished his career with 111 strikeouts and 37 walks. During his senior year in 2024, Hunter sat fourth in the team for innings pitched, tossing 45.1 innings.
