All-Ivy League Second Team at quarterback … recipient of the team’s Jake Crouthamel Trophy as the offensive underclassman who has contributed most to the success of the team … split time behind center as primarily a wildcat QB with Derek Kyler … fourth in the Ivy League with 87.5 yards rushing per game, fifth with 700 total rushing yards … led the team in rushes (115), yards on the ground (700) and rushing touchdowns (8) while averaging 6.09 yards per carry, the fourth highest average in program history (minimum 10 rushes per team game) … also completed 12-of-21 throws with four scoring strikes … made season debut in the Ivy League opener against Penn, carrying the ball nine times for 37 yards with the game’s first touchdown from five yards out in a 37-18 victory … shredded the Yale defense for 169 yards on 20 carries with two touchdowns — the first from 31 yards out, the second a 6-yard jaunt — to earn DartmouthSports.com Male Athlete of the Week honors … of those 169 yards, 66 came on the opening drive on just three keepers … ran for two scores and threw for two more, going 3-for-3 through the air for 63 yards in the 42-0 blanking of Sacred Heart … posted a season-high 183 rushing yards on 24 carries with a 20-yard romp to the end zone, plus completed a 30-yard toss to help Dartmouth defeat Harvard for the first time in 15 years and first time at home in a quarter century in a 24-17 triumph … connected on a personal-best 4-of-5 throws for 40 yards with a 13-yard scoring strike for the Big Green’s lone touchdown in the defensive battle of Ivy League unbeatens at Princeton … third 100-yard rushing performance of the year came at Cornell (19 carries, 106 yards) with a pair of 1-yard dives into the end zone in the third quarter for the winning margin in a 35-24 win … also topped the 1,000-yard mark for his career during the game, becoming just the third Dartmouth QB to reach the milestone … needed just eight rushing attempts to gobble up 91 yards against Brown, plus tossed a 1-yard TD to open the scoring in a 49-7 blowout over the Bears to end the season.
SOPHOMORE (2017) | Game-by-Game Stats
Recipient of the team’s Doten Award as the sophomore who made a significant contribution to the success of the team … spent the season as the Wildcat quarterback option for the Big Green … led the team in rushing touchdowns (7) and average per carry (5.0) while ranking second in rushing attempts (86) and yardage (428) … played in nine of the 10 games with at least three rushing attempts in those nine … first score came in the opener at Stetson, a 1-yard bull run to open up the 10-7 halftime lead en route to a 38-7 victory … first of two completions on the season came the following week against 25th-ranked Holy Cross, a 16-yard gain … was the difference in a hard-fought, 16-13 win at Penn, amassing 71 yards on the ground on 11 carries, the last a 1-yard dive into the end zone on the game’s final play … had another 1-yard excursion into the end zone for Dartmouth’s first points against Columbia early in the third quarter … picked up 36 yards on five runs in Fenway Park, but also had two of his three receptions on the year, picking up 20 more yards … saved his best for the final game, exploding for 202 rushing yards and four touchdowns — three coming in the fourth quarter — on 32 rushes to carry the Big Green to a wild 54-44 triumph over Princeton … named not just the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week and the DartmouthSports.com Male Athlete of the Week, but the Gold Helmet Award winner from the New England Football Writers Assocation as well … also received honorable mentions for the FCS National Offensive Player of the Week from STATS and the College Football Performance Awards for his Herculean effort.

HIGH SCHOOL
Passed for 1,418 yards and 19 touchdowns and despite playing on two sprained ankles ran for 676 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior … twice chosen Section V Ontario Honda Class AA Offensive Player of the Year … Monroe County Division I Co-Player of the Year as a senior … All-Greater Rochester selection two times … took part in the Top Gun competition in Dublin, Ohio, earning one of the top MVP honors … competed in the U.S. Army National Combine in San Antonio, Texas … also played basketball.
PERSONAL
Had preferred walk-on offers from the Miami Hurricanes, Michigan State, Buffalo and Old Dominion ... comes from an athletic family . . . grandfather Lee Minotti was a two-time national champion gymnast at Syracuse in 1950 and ’51 and other grandfather Jack Gerbino was a standout basketball player at Aquinas Institute in Rochester who had scholarship offers before serving in WWII.
