Granted a fifth season due to a medical hardship … named to Phil Steele Preseason All-Ivy League Second Team … earned honorable mention for FCS National Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for a career-high 169 yards and a touchdown on just 16 carries in the 35-13 win over Valparaiso.

Named to Phil Steele All-Ivy League Fourth Team … co-recipient of the team’s Lester Godwin Award, given to the senior who, through perseverance, rose above personal disadvantage to contribute measurably to the team … second on the squad with 476 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns … took the handoff 88 times for a 5.4-yard average … also caught two scoring strikes and tied for third on the team with 19 receptions for 202 yards … snagged at least one pass in each of the nine games he played … amassed a career-high 149 all-purpose yards in the season opener at Valparaiso, rushing for 92 yards and a TD while hauling in three passes for a career-high 57 yards and another score in the 28-18 victory … nearly matched those all-purpose yards the very next game, running for a career-high 103 on a mere 11 carries — one a 47-yard sprint to the end zone — and catching two passes for 45 yards in a 41-3 blowout of Sacred Heart … topped 90 rushing yards for the third straight game in the Ivy League opener at Penn, gobbling up 91 yards on 13 carries to go with an 8-yard touchdown grab in the 31-7 victory … carried the ball a career-high 16 times and led the Big Green with 49 yards in the overtime win over Yale, but got dinged and missed the win at No. 23 UNH the following week … had a 15-yard run and a 15-yard reception in the 20-17 win at 21st-ranked Harvard … picked up 44 yards on seven carries in the 31-7 win over No. 16 and undefeated Princeton … snared passes of 19 and 16 yards in the 41-7 rout of Cornell … contributed 26 yards on five rushes and 17 yards on two catches in the title-clinching win at Brown.

Opened the season in the running back rotation and played in the first three games before suffering a season-ending injury at Penn in the Ivy League opener … ran for 28 yards on seven carries with a 16-yard rush, plus caught a 12-yard pass in the season-opening, 35-3 victory at Jacksonville … led the Big Green with five receptions out of the backfield in the 38-3 win over Colgate, collecting 41 yards and another 40 on six carries … topped the team with 64 receiving yards on three catches the following week against the Quakers with 57 of those yards coming on a touchdown toss, plus ran for another score from 17 yards out in 28-15 triumph.

Recipient of Dartmouth’s Earl Hamilton Freshman Award as the freshman player who has made the most outstanding contribution to his team, displays the friendliness, sense of humor, and appreciation of the outdoors that characterized Earl Hamilton, freshman football coach from 1955-65 and varsity backfield coach from 1966 until his death in 1968 … one of three rookies to play in all 10 games … had at least one touch in all but one of those contests … first unofficial rush went for 26 yards, only to be called back by a holding penalty … promptly ran for 13 yards on three carries and caught a 9-yard pass on the final possession of the 41-0 blanking of Georgetown … had a reception during each of the Big Green’s first two touchdown drives at Holy Cross, plus ran for 19 more on four carries in the 34-14 victory … started the second half of the 37-14 win over Penn with a 27-yard kickoff return that led to a touchdown … gave the Green the lead for good with his 13-yard touchdown run in the first quarter at Yale in an eventual 41-18 triumph … his big plays against Sacred Heart were a 36-yard catch and 14-yard run in the 42-0 shutout win … posted a 21-yard run and a 14-yard grab during a second-quarter drive in a 35-24 victory at Cornell … saved his longest run for his last, a 45-yard sprint to the end zone for the Big Green’s final touchdown of the season in a 49-7 blowout of Brown.
HIGH SCHOOL
Two-time Red Bank Catholic captain carried 79 times for 1,087 yards and 18 touchdowns in just seven games as a senior, an average of 13.8 yards per carry … also had one TD receiving, another on a 99-yard kickoff return and another on a 78-yard punt return … piled up 232 yards and three TDs on just eight carries in a game with TDs of four, 85 and 86 yards … ran for 917 yards as a junior … helped team win division and conference titles as a senior … first-team all-division and All-Shore as a junior and senior … third-team all-state final two seasons … also wrestled.
