NEW ASSISTANT COACH AT DARTMOUTH
On April 21, 2026, head coach Brett MacConnell announced the addition of Kearney to the Dartmouth men's basketball staff as an assistant coach.

COACHING BEGINNINGS AT KENYON
Kearney began his coaching career at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where he spent five seasons as an assistant coach overseeing recruiting, game planning and day-to-day operational duties for the Owls. During his tenure, Kenyon posted its best non-conference record since 1996, and Kearney helped recruit and develop five All-NCAC selections.

PRINCETON AND AIR FORCE
Kearney spent the 2023-24 season alongside MacConnell at Princeton, serving as the program's video coordinator. That year, the Tigers went 24-5 overall and 12-2 in Ivy League play, winning the conference's regular-season title and earning a berth in the National Invitation Tournament. In his role, Kearney assisted with offensive game planning, opponent scouting and daily program operations, and handled film organization for recruiting and player development.

In 2024, Kearney headed west to join the Air Force Academy staff as an assistant coach, a position he held for two seasons through 2025-26. As the program's recruiting coordinator, he helped scout and sign talent including Kam Sanders, the program's freshman scoring and assists record holder, and Lucas Hobin, the freshman three-point record holder.

PLAYING CAREER AND BACKGROUND
A native of Toms River, New Jersey, Kearney played basketball at Drew University for two seasons, serving as team captain, before transitioning to a student-assistant role for his final two years. In high school, he played for his father, Mike Kearney, at Monsignor Donovan High School. Kearney graduated from Drew in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in English.
