Dan Richeal joined the Dartmouth Athletics as an assistant director for content creation in July 2024.
Richeal joins the Big Green staff after spending two years at Niagara University. While with the Purple Eagles he oversaw Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, Volleyball, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Hockey, Women’s Basketball, Baseball, and Women’s Track & Field. Niagara women’s basketball had historic seasons in both 2022-23 and 2023-24, the Purple Eagles earned WNIT bids in both seasons for the first time in program history. In 2024, Richeal was the contact for Niagara baseball that won its first MAAC Championship in program history while making its first NCAA Tournament appearance.
A native of Tonawanda, N.Y., Richeal started his professional career at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pa. Richeal joined the Lakers as the Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications in the summer of 2020 before being promoted to Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in the summer of 2021. In January 2022, Richeal was named the Interim Director of Athletic Communications. Following the conclusion of the 2021-22 academic year, Richeal was named the Director of Athletic Communications. During his time at Mercyhurst, Richeal oversaw all 26 teams while being the direct contact for Men’s Hockey, Women’s hockey, Cross Country, Men’s and Women’s Rowing, Bowling, Field Hockey, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Volleyball, and Men’s and Women’s Water Polo. In 2022, Richeal was the contact for the Mercyhurst Women’s Rowing team that captured the Division II National Championship. Richeal also served as the secondary contact for the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four in 2021 while serving as the primary contact for the 2021 CHA Tournament.
Prior to starting his professional career, Richeal held multiple positions as an intern. During his time as an undergraduate student, he was an intern for the Niagara University Athletic Communications Department while also being an intern for the Niagara Power of the NYCBL. In 2019-20, Richeal served as the Video Content Producer for Niagara University Hockey.
Richeal graduated from Niagara University in May of 2020 with a bachelors degree in sport management.
