Why Dartmouth?
I fell in love with Dartmouth because of its strong academics as well as its strong sailing program.
How long have you been sailing and what got you interested in sailing?
My dad and uncle both encouraged me to get involved with sailing, as they are both involved sailors. I began sailing at a very young age but really started taking it seriously once I got to high school.
What Sailing or Academic achievements are you particularly proud of?
Winning the CJ Buckley Team Race in 2012 as well as winning the Rose Cup Junior Match Racing Championship.
Tell us something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I have never eaten a hamburger.
What are your future sailing and career plans?
I hope to continue to improve as a sailor throughout my next four years at Dartmouth. I hope that sailing will become a life long sport for me. I plan to study either math or economics.
What sports or activities did you pursue in high school, and what do you hope to continue at Dartmouth?
I ran on the cross country team at my high school, and I hope to continue to run in my free time at Dartmouth. I also was involved as a facilitator for a special needs chorus at my high school, which I found extremely rewarding and fun. I hope to find more opportunities to work with kids of all abilities in the future.
