Prior to Dartmouth, Vogt served as assistant softball coach and assistant profesor in physical education at Central Michigan. She assisted the head coach in all aspects of the program and served as the recruiting coordinator, hitting coach and director and lead clinician of all Chippewa softball camps and clinics. Central Michigan finished the 2004 season with a 32-19 overall record, 21-3 in the Mid-American Conference, earning the team's 11th MAC championship and an at-large NCAA bid.
Prior to Central Michigan, Vogt was the head softball coach at Columbia University. She was instrumental in developing the softball program at Coolumbia which became a full varsity Ivy sport in 2001. Under her direction that year, Columbia earned a 26-25 record and a post-season ECAC tournament bid. In 2002, the Lions again earned an ECAC berth with a 27-24 record.
Vogt graduated cum laude from Harvard in 1994 and then received a master's degree in exercise science and sports studies from Smith College in 1998. While at Smith she also served as an assistant coach, helping the women's softball program earn its first New England Women's and Men's Athletics Conference championship and first appearance in the NCAA Division III regional tournament in 1998.
At Harvard, Vogt was the team MVP and an All-Ivy selection in 1994. She earned the Becky Pocius Memorial Award and was also a member of the Crimson's varsity field hockey squad.
From May to June, 1997, she played for the renowned Virginia Roadsters of the women's professional fastpitch organization.
Vogt has also coached at Smith Academy and Southwick-Tolland Regional High School.
