Farmer spent the 2014 season in Reno, Nevada, as part of Dr. Melissa Price's staff at Nevada. He was the top assistant and recruiting coordinator and assisted in game scheduling, film exchange and camps.
Prior to his stop in Reno, Farmer served as the head women's soccer coach at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for six seasons. During his time at RPI, Farmer led the Engineers to their first conference championship, capturing the Liberty League title in 2012 en route to the team's first conference playoff berth. Under Farmer's direction, the Engineers received their first NSCAA national top-25 ranking this past season.
Farmer spent one year as the assistant women's soccer coach and recruiting coordinator at Wisconsin before going to Troy, New York, and RPI. While with the Badgers, Farmer assisted in all aspects of on-field training, planning and match preparation, along with coordinating recruiting, film and video.
Farmer received his first head coaching job at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford as the men's soccer coach for one season. He was named the AMCC Coach of the Year after leading the Panthers to their first winning conference record and first conference tournament appearance in a decade.
From 2004-06, Farmer served as an assistant for the men's soccer program at Ithaca College in New York. His first coaching opportunity in collegiate athletics came in the fall of 2003 when he spent time as the assistant women's soccer coach at Penn State University.
In addition to all of his college coaching experience, Farmer has worked with a number of club teams and has been a part of numerous soccer camps. In 2003, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in sport management from Flagler College. He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the United States Soccer Federation.
