Marge & Ron Boss ‘61 Family Head Coach of Women's Tennis Bob Dallis announced the addition of Valeria Nikolaev to the coaching staff in August of 2024 as the Moore Family Assistant Coach of Women’s Tennis.
In her first season in Hanover, the Big Green went 9-13 while winning a pair of Ivy League matches. Dartmouth went 6-2 at home with wins over Army, Marist, Colgate, UMass, Princetom, and Brown.
Nikolaev joins the Big Green following coaching stops at Mississippi State and Jacksonville State. In 2022-23 she helped lead Jacksonville State to a 12-8 record while also advancing to the Conference USA Semifinals.
Dallis spoke very highly of his new assistant coach. “We are very excited to add Valeria to the staff. Her passion for tennis and enthusiasm for coaching is very apparent. I know that she will be an outstanding addition to Dartmouth Women’s Tennis.”
Prior to starting her coaching career, Nikolaev played for Mississippi State from 2018-21. During her career she had a 10-12 record along with winning three doubles matches. As a redshirt-freshman in 2019-20 she set a career high with eight wins.
She started her coaching career at her alma mater, from 2021-23 she was a student assistant coach for the Bulldogs. She has also spent time working at tennis clubs, from 2022 to 2023 she served as the assistant tennis professional at Pretty Brook Tennis Club in Princeton, N.J. She also served as the head tennis professional at Arrowhead Tennis Club in Vail, CO since May 2024.
Nikolaev is also a member of the ITA Women’s Coaches Circle and has been a part of the organization since the fall of 2023.
