2013 Highlights
Q and A with Aylin
Why Dartmouth?
-I was brainwashed at an early age. My parents met at Dartmouth, so I applied early decision. The amazing academics, mixed with one of the best Division I ski programs in the country, made the decision a no-brainer.
How long have you been skiing and what got you interested in skiing?
-I’ve been skiing since I was two. My parents had only ever skied as a hobby, so I didn’t really come from a ski racing family per se. I competed in my first race on my fifth birthday, where they let me start out of the adult start house from the top of the race course as my birthday present, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
-My favorite relaxation activity is reading comic books at Barnes and Noble.
What are your future plans, if any?
-Pursuing a Ph.D in Biological Anthropology, hopefully through the post-graduate program at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
-I’m Vice President of Phi Tau Co-educational Fraternity, play clarinet for the Dartmouth College Marching Band, and work in Admissions as a Senior Tour Guide.
