Before Dartmouth: Ketchum was a three-year letterwinner for cross country and a four-year letterwinner for track at Poly Prep Country Day School in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn, N.Y. Throughout her running career, she won multiple championships at the Ivy League Prep Championships and the New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS). She was a 3x NYSAIS champion for 1500m and 3000m, and won the 5K at the event her sophomore year. At the Ivy League Prep Championships, she was a 3x indoor champion for 1600m, once for the 800m and 1000m, and twice for 3000m and 3200m. She also won multiple outdoor championships at the event, once in the 800m and 1000m, twice in the 1600m, and twice in the 3200m. Ketchum is also the Poly Prep record holder in the 1500m, 3000m, and 3200m. Academically, she earned honor roll all four years and was inducted into the Cum Laude Society her senior year. She was also a yearbook staff writer and involved in the special Olympics club.
Personal: Ella is the daughter of Greg Ketchum and Colleen Bailey and has a twin sister. She is undecided on a major at Dartmouth.
