Evan Lombardo wrapped up his first season at Dartmouth in 2022-23.

A former two-time All-America attackman at Lynchburg, Lombardo helped elevate the Big Green’s offensive attack, and program, to new heights. As a team, Dartmouth finished with a 6-6 overall record, marking its most wins and first time at .500 or better since 2008. Among the highlights, the Big Green came back from 7-1 down at Hobart to beat the Statesmen, 20-16, marking their first win over Hobart since 1995. It was one of three games in which Dartmouth scored 17 or more goals, also Holy Cross (17) and Hampton (18), marking the first time that’s happened three times since 1996. The Big Green also opened Ivy League play with a thrilling 10-9 overtime win over Harvard, marking the program’s first league victory since 2015. In every week of March, Dartmouth was receiving national votes in the USILA Coaches Poll and Inside Lacrosse/Media Poll.

An assistant offensive coordinator (working with OC Joe Connor), Lombardo helped the Big Green score 140 goals in 12 games, their most goals in a season since 2008 when they had 150 in 14 contests. Dartmouth reached double-figure goals in four Ivy League games, which was also its most since 2008. Bridging the very end of 2022 and most of 2023, the Big Green scored on the extra man in 15 straight games, marking the longest active streak in the nation at the time.

Individually, Colin McGill finished with 46 points, the most points by a Dartmouth player since 2008. Emmett Paradine was named Ivy League Rookie of the Year, the Big Green’s first major award winner since 2017. Paradine posted 10 points at Hobart (seven goals, three assists), as the only Division I rookie in the nation to reach double figures in a game in 2023. Nate Davis was named second team All-Ivy, emerging as one of the league’s top offensive midfielders.

Lombardo came to Hanover after a two-year stint as a graduate assistant at his alma mater with the University of Lynchburg men's lacrosse team. Lombardo worked primarily with attackmen, focusing on skill development while supporting scheme and culture as well as the man-up team. During his time on the coaching staff, he coached six All-Americans and 12 All-Conference selections. He helped the Hornets to two conference championships and an appearance in the NCAA Elite 8 in 2021. Lombardo was a member of the coaching staff that was named the 2021 USILA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year and the 2022 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Coaching Staff of the Year.

In Lombardo’s time at Lynchburg, the Hornets scored 17.10 goals per game in 2021 and 17.25 in 2022, which was 10th in the nation. He coached the second-highest man-up percentage in the country (55.2 percent), which was improved from 31.5 percent the year prior.

As a player for Lynchburg, Lombardo was a two-time USILA All-American (2017, 2018) and a USILA Scholar All-American (2019). He finished his career with 210 goals, which at the time was the second most in program history, fourth most in ODAC history and 25th most in NCAA DIII history.

Lombardo graduated from Lynchburg in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education before graduating with a master's degree in education leadership in May of 2022.
