The 2019-20 athletic season kicked off last week with the men's cross country team as well as the women's soccer team starting off with wins. Senior Quinn Cooney earned a first-place finish in the annual Maribel Sanchez Souther Invitational at the Hanover Country Club. Freshman Alli Winstanley is making her mark early for the women's soccer team with two goals and an assist to start her Big Green career.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Cape Air Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Cape Air Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

In the second game of the season against Syracuse, Winstanley scored her first career goal in the ninth minute, which ended up being the game winner.
Then in the Big Green's 7-0 drubbing of Florida International on Sunday, she picked up her first assist, which was to Mollie McGorisk for the first goal of the game in the 12th minute. Winstanley then scored in the 60th minute to extend the Dartmouth lead to 5-0.
