Big Green athletes come from near and far to share their talents. Junior Dusan Neskovic hails from Bosnia and Herzegovina and led the men’s basketball team to their first Ivy win of the season. Taking on the Bulldogs of Yale, the team came home with an 81-77 victory. Coming from Ohio, sophomore Aubrey Lennon led the women’s squash teams to three victories over the weekend.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named The Richards Group Athletes of the week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Dusan Neskovic, Jr., Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, F., Men’s Basketball
Dusan Neskovic’s week was highlighted by a career-high 24 points in Friday's big 81-77 win at Yale, the Big Green’s first against the Bulldogs since 2015. Neskovic shot 7-of-10 from the floor, including a perfect 4-of-4 from 3-point range and hit two clutch free throws with three seconds remaining to clinch the victory. His four made threes marked the most for a Big Green player without a miss against a Division I opponent since 2018. Neskovic's 24 points were the most points scored by any player at Yale this season and second most this season overall (only behind Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe, who scored 28). Neskovic went on to add 10 points on Saturday at Brown.
