David Lassonde joined the Dartmouth men's hockey coaching staff for the 2014-15 season and will be behind the bench for his sixth season when the team kicks off the 2019-20 campaign.

In his time with the team, Lassonde has worked closely with the Big Green’s forwards, power play as well as the goaltenders. From 2018-20, Dartmouth had a goalie on an All-Ivy League Team in each of the three season: Devin Buffalo (2018, 2nd), Adrian Clark (2019, 1st & 2020, 2nd).

Lassonde has enjoyed successes on an international level as well as a coach with USA Hockey. He was a member of the American coaching staff at the 2018 World Junior Championship in British Columbia, helping the US to a silver medal. It was the third time for Lassonde working with the US at the World Juniors after serving as an assistant coach for the U.S. National Junior Team that captured the Gold Medal at the 2013 IIHF World U20 Championship in Ufa, Russia. In that time, Lassonde coached American netminder John Gibson helping him earn the tournament's Most Valuable Player award.

The Rochester, New Hampshire, native has an an impressive resumé in college over three-plus decades which includes 20 trips to the NCAA Tournament with five appearances in the Frozen Four, three conference tournament titles and six regular-season championships in addition to working with 10 players who were named Hobey Baker Finalists.

In his most recent job prior to Dartmouth, Lassonde helped lead Denver to the NCHC Tournament Championship in the league's inaugural season and a berth in the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Additionally, under Lassonde's tutelage, senior goaltender Sam Brittain was named a 2013-14 West First-Team All-American for his play between the pipes for the Pioneers.

Prior to his time in Denver (2011-14), Lassonde was on staff at the University of New Hampshire as an assistant (1988-1991/1997-2002) and associate head coach (2002-11). Between his two stints with the Wildcats, Lassonde spent three seasons at both Wisconsin (1991-94) and Miami (Ohio) (1994-97).

The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) recognized Lassonde with the Terry Flanagan Award in 2007. The honor is presented annually to an assistant coach that has demonstrated a superior body of work throughout his career.

A 1984 cum laude graduate from Providence College, he played goalie for the Friars under hockey legend and current New York Islanders President and GM Lou Lamoriello from 1981-83.
