HANOVER, N.H.-- Koenig Family Head Coach of Dartmouth Men's Hockey, Reid Cashman announced eight new student-athletes ahead of the 2026-27 season on Monday.
Dartmouth welcomes eight student-athletes all of which hail from North America. The class consists of five forwards, two defensemen, and one goalie.
Cashman is thrilled to bring in a group of student-athletes that will build on the success of Dartmouth men's hockey. "Our staff couldn't be more excited to welcome eight tremendous young men to Dartmouth College. We look forward to having them join our returning players as this 26-27 Dartmouth Hockey team starts their own journey."
Jesse Allecia | Forward | New York, N.Y. | Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL)
Allecia joins the Big Green after playing for the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the QMJHL over the last two seasons. Last season he played in 64 games for Drummondville while scoring 23 goals and notching 42 assists. In 2024-25, he played 20 games with Alberni Valley Bulldogs (BCHL); with the Bulldogs he scored four goals with 10 points before joining Drummondville. In 102 QMJHL games he scored 31 times while adding 56 assists. Prior to starting his junior career, he played prep hockey with the Salisbury School and Deerfield Academy.
Ben Buckley | Forward | Warwick, RI | Surrey Eagles (BCHL)
Buckley comes to Dartmouth after playing three seasons of junior hockey. This past season he played 42 games in the BCHL between the Spruce Grove Saints and Surrey Eagles. He scored 10 goals while adding six assists. He started his junior career with the Calgary Canucks of the AJHL in 2023-24 and tallied six points in 23 games. In 2024-25, he split his season between the AJHL and BCHL, in 54 games he totaled 19 points between Calgary, Drayton Valley and Alberni Valley.
Matt Desiderio | Defense | North Caldwell, N.J. | Brown Bears (ECAC)
Desiderio started his collegiate career with Brown in 2025-26 while playing in 31 games for the Bears. He tallied 12 points with four goals and eight assists. In his second collegiate game he tallied a pair of assists against Air Force. The defensemen scored his first NCAA goal against Alaska-Anchorage on Nov. 19. Prior to his collegiate career he played two seasons with Dubuque in the USHL, with the Fighting Saints he played 108 games with 17 goals and 35 assists. In 2022-23, he played alongside current Dartmouth forward Austin Salani with the Austin Bruins of the NAHL where he had 20 points in 59 games.
Sebastian Gatto | Goalie | Troy, Mich. | London Knights (OHL)
Gatto joins Dartmouth after one season with the London Knights of the OHL and two seasons in the OJHL and BCHL. With London he played in 38 games while having a 24-8-2 record with a 2.37 goals against average and a .916 save percentage. In 2024-25 he played with current Dartmouth forward Nathan Morin and the Chilliwack Chiefs of the BCHL. He played 29 games with Chilliwack and notched a 19-6-4 record. In 2023-24 he played two games for Canada East in the U19 World Junior A Challenge while playing for the Leamington Flyers of the OJHL.
Ryan Harvey | Defense | Stouffville, Ont. | Cowichan Valley Capitals (BCHL)
Harvey joins the Big Green after serving as captain with the Cowichan Valley Capitals in 2025-26. The defensemen played 48 games last season for Cowichan Valley while scoring 12 goals and adding 20 assists from the blueline. He started his BCHL career in 2023-24 with the Spruce Grove Saints after opening his junior career in the OJHL with the Stouffville Spirit. In 89 OJHL games he scored 14 goals with 45 assists while being named First Team All-Rookie in 2022-23 and an All-Star in 2023-24. He closed out his BCHL career with 110 career games, 15 goals, and 40 assists.
Grayden Robertson-Palmer | Forward | Kanata, Ont. | Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL)
Robertson-Palmer played the 2025-26 season in the QMJHL with the Moncton Wildcats after being selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the 7th Round of the 2025 NHL Entry Level Draft. Robertson-Palmer played 55 games for Moncton while tallying six goals and five assists. Prior to heading to Moncton as an 18 year old, he played three seasons with Phillips Academy Andover where he served as captain in 2024-25. In 87 prep games he scored 39 goals and added 51 assists.
Drew Stewart | Forward | Minnetonka, Minn. | Muskegon Lumberjacks (USHL)
Stewart has played the last three seasons in the USHL, he played the 2023-24 season with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders where he scored seven goals and added 15 assists alongside current Big Green defensemen Colin Grable. He started the 2024-25 season with Cedar Rapids before joining the Muskegon Lumberjacks for 57 games. In those 57 games he scored 15 goals with 14 assists as Muskegon won the Clark Cup as USHL Champions. In his final junior season in 2025-26 he scored 30 goals and added 31 assists in 56 games. In the USHL Playoffs he played in 16 games while scoring nine goals and adding seven assists as an assistant captain.
Grant Young | Forward | Boulder, Colo. | Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (USHL)
Young spent the last three seasons in the USHL between the Youngstown Phantoms and the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. He closed his junior career in Cedar Rapids in 2025-26 as he skated in 43 games while scoring 14 goals and adding 14 assists. In 2024-25 he started the season with Youngstown before playing 45 games in Cedar Rapids where he notched 23 points on eight goals and 15 assists. In his first full season in USHL in 2023-24 he scored 15 times and dished out 20 assists in 59 games with Youngstown. He closed his USHL career with 37 goals and 50 assists in 157 games.
The Big Green open the 2026-27 season with a scrimmage at Norwich on Saturday, Oct. 17 before opening the regular season against Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Thompson Arena. Dartmouth had a historic 2025-26 season while winning its first ever ECAC Hockey Tournament Championship and winning a program best 23 games. Eight of Dartmouth's top 10 point getters from its first NCAA team in 46 years return in 2026-27 including ECAC and Ivy League Player of the Year Hayden Stavroff and All-ECAC and All-Ivy players Hank Cleaves, Emmett Croteau, and captain CJ Foley.
