Prior to Dartmouth: Young spent the last three seasons in the USHL between the Youngstown Phantoms and the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. He closed his junior career in Cedar Rapids in 2025-26 as he skated in 43 games while scoring 14 goals and added 14 assists. In 2024-25 he started the season with Youngstown before playing 45 games in Cedar Rapids where he notched 23 points on eight goals and 15 assists. In his first full season in USHL in 2023-24 he scored 15 times and notched 20 assists in 59 games with Youngstown. He closed his USHL career with 37 goals and 50 assists in 157 games.
