SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Senior Mustafa Abdur-Rahim (Brookline, Mass.) and junior Kelsey Wiegmann (Mill Valley, Calif.) won the multi-events competitions for Dartmouth at the Big Green in the Desert Meet that concluded Thursday.
Abdur-Rahim won the decathlon with an NCAA-qualifying score of 7,719. On Wednesday's opening day, he ran the 100 meters in 10.94 and the 400 in 49.32; cleared 6-2 1/2 in the high jump; had a mark of 46-10 1/2 in the shot put; and posted 23-4 in the long jump.
In the final five events, he ran 14.34 in the 110 hurdles and 4:28.38 in the 1500 meters. He also had distances of 173-5 1/2 in the javelin, 142-1 1/2 in the discus and 13-7 1/2 in the pole vault.
Sophomore Tyler Koskenoja (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) was third with 6,516 points.
Wiegmann accumulated 2,903 points on the first day with a time of 15.77 in the hurdles, 5-7 1/4 in the high jump, 37-2 in the shot and 27.44 in the 200 meters.
She concluded Day 2 with 17-1 1/2 in the long jump, 134-1 in the javelin and 2:28.46 in the 800 meters.
Sisters Matthan Chatterton-Richmond (Rochester, N.H.) and Jadah Chatterton-Richmond (Rochester, N.H.) were third and fourth, respectively. Matthan, a junior, scored 4,375 points, while Jadah, a sophomore, had 4,334.
Freshmen Cassandre Tanner (Baltimore, Md.), Kara Pydynkowski (Danvers, Mass.) and Micaela Carwell (Laconia, N.H.) were seventh, ninth and tenth, respectively.
