Ithaca, N.Y. ? The 21^st ranked Dartmouth women's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 3-1 victory over Cornell this afternoon. The Big Green improved to 12-4-1/6-1 Ivy with the win, just missing out an Ivy League Title.

“I didn't think we played our best today, but I am happy that we got the win,” said Head Coach Angie Hind. “We are looking forward to what Monday (NCAA Selections) will bring.”

The Big Green, who has been in the national rankings for the past four weeks, expects to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after an impressive season during which it has also consistently been ranked first or second in the Northeast.

Both teams struggled to get on the board throughout the first half. Dartmouth finally got its edge in the 42^nd minute when senior captain Colleen Kelly (Potomac, Md.) headed the ball off a corner kick towards Emily Tracy (Belfair, Wash.), who sent it into the corner of the goal. It was Tracy's fourth goal of the season.

Dartmouth took a 1-0 lead into halftime after out-shooting Cornell 9-2 in the first.

The Big Green carried the momentum from Tracy's goal into the second half. Dartmouth capitalized on a quality set piece started by Whitney Douthett (Newtown, Pa.) and ended by rookie Ali Hubbard (Marshfield, Mass.), who crossed the final ball into the box. Junior Monica Martin de Bustamante (Los Altos Hills, Calif.) slid in to catch the cross for a nice goal in the 60^th minute, her team-leading fifth of the season.

The Big Red caught a break in the 80th minute with the Big Green up 2-0. Cornell was awarded a controversial penalty kick after a Dartmouth player was called for a hand ball in box. Alison McKeown beat Big Green goalkeeper

Dartmouth responded well to the Cornell score, answering with its third goal of the game just three minutes later. Senior captain Megan Wijas (Southborough, Mass.) created space in a scramble and found the back of the net at 82:35. Sophomore Emily Forline (Bethesda, Md.) was credited with the assist.

Hind noted that Wijas played yet another tremendous game in midfield.

Webb played another solid game in goal, making five saves and only allowing the penalty goal. Cornell's Taylor Hendren made five stops as well.

Dartmouth outshot Cornell 16-8 and held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.

The Big Green just missed out on an Ivy League title, as Columbia posted a 6-0-1 record this season, earning its first-ever Ancient Eight Championship.
