HANOVER, N.H. – Freshman Daniel Keat (Wellington, New Zealand) recorded his first collegiate goal to help the Dartmouth men's soccer team to an opening season win over visiting Binghamton on the first day of the adidas/Hypertherm Tournament at Chase Field. With the win, the Big Green improves to 1-0-0, while Binghamton falls to 0-2-1.
The first Dartmouth goal came off a penalty kick by Mike Ordonez (Coral Gables, Fla.) at 4:57 into the first period.
Keat added his insurance goal in the 88th minute with the assist going to senior Peter Savidis (Rochester, N.Y.). Savidis came up with the ball in traffic in front of the Bearcats net kicking ahead to Keat who bicycled the ball through the back of the goal.
Rowan Anders (Qualicum Beach, B.C.) made four saves to pick up his first shutout of the year, ninth of this career. He now has 14 career shutouts, good for a tie for fourth in Dartmouth history and just two shy of the Big Green record.
In the first game of the day UNH defeated Long Island 2-0.
