Comeback Falls Short for Dartmouth Men's Basketball
Boxscore
HANOVER, N.H. - A valiant second-half comeback by the Dartmouth men's basketball team fell short as the Big Green lost to the University of New Hampshire, 65-61, Tuesday night.
The Wildcats (6-12) held a 41-28 halftime advantage and then started the second half with an 8-0 run for their biggest lead of the game, 49-28, with 17:18 to go.
But Dartmouth chipped away. The Big Green reduced the deficit to nine, 55-46, on a 3-pointer by senior Leon Pattman (Memphis, Tenn.) with 4:32 remaining.
Another Pattman trey, his fourth of the night, capped a 15-8 run, making it 63-61 in UNH's favor with eight seconds to go, but Dartmouth ran out of time.
Forced to foul in the final 36 seconds, Dartmouth sent UNH's Jermaine Anderson to the line. He made all seven of his attempts to ice the game for the Wildcats and finished with a game-high 21 points.
Dartmouth connected on 42.4 percent of its shots from the floor, but UNH was 54.5 percent.
Pattman finished with 18 points for the Big Green, while Alex Barnett (St. Louis, Mo.) had his third double-double in a row. The sophomore had 16 points and matched his career-high with 12 rebounds, including seven offensive. He played the entire 40 minutes for the Big Green.
Sophomore DeVon Mosley (Mesquite, Texas) added 13 points for the Big Green who begins a stretch of 12 straight Ivy League games.
