STONY BROOK, N.Y. ? The Dartmouth men's basketball team saw its two-game winning streak come to an end as Stony Brook outscored the Big Green 40-28 in the second half, to earn the 70-43 victory.

For Stony Brook (1-6), Ricky Lucas poured in a game-high 19 points and Demetrius Young posted a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 14 boards, including six offensive rebounds.
The Big Green had trouble all afternoon on the defensive
boards as the Seawolves grabbed 17 offensive rebounds and out-rebounded
After slow start from both teams, Stony Brook opened up its largest lead at 26-12 with 4:39 left in the first half, following a 14-4 run by the Seawolves.
Turnovers hurt both squads early, but the Big Green turned the ball over 13 times, while Stony Brook committed 10 turnovers.
Lucas led all first half scorers with 12 points, including a stretch of seven consecutive points. Beauford and Demetrius Young added six points for the Seawolves, who shot 46 percent from the floor in the half.
In the second half, Stony Brook came out and went a 16-6 run to push the lead up to 46-21 with 15:00 left. Young was the catalyst during the run pouring in six straight points, while Lucas dropped four points.
The Big Green would cut the deficit to 46-30 on a 3-pointer by Giovacchini and a breakaway lay-up from Mosley.
The Seawolves, however, kept running. Stony Brook increased
its lead to 61-38 with a 15-7 run in a seven minute stretch and would go on to
