Dartmouth's True Fourth at Sun Angel Classic
TEMPE, Ariz. - Dartmouth junior
Ben True (N. Yarmouth, Maine) made a mark in his first track and field meet of 2007, clocking 4:02.61 in the mile at the Sun Angel Classic on Saturday night.
True had the second fastest time in Big Green history in his first collegiate attempt at this distance. He bettered the NCAA regional qualifying standard. Lopez Lomong of Northern Arizona won in 3:58.54, Aaron Aquayo of Arizona State was second in 4:00.14, and Felix Kiboiywo of Auburn nosed out True in 4:02.44.
Also running the mile, Big Green junior
Harry Norton (North Reading, Mass.) was sixth with 4:09.99.
Sophomore
Trevor Middleton (New Orleans, La.) grabbed fifth place in the 800 meters with 1:53.85, and junior
Charlie Stoebe (Westport, Conn.) timed 48.81 in the 400 meters.
